Create Holograms with Godot Engine: Bryan Duggan

We use modified Quest 3s with faceplate removed to provide full FOV, and a hand tracking interactions to create holographic experiences that blend movement, shapes, color and sound into magical, multi-sensory experiences. We create these in Godot which enables flow-state creativity and super fast iteration.

We present 3 projects we have created with this approach:

  1. Motion Captured Holographic Irish Traditional Musicians.
  2. Quest:SDG: Learn about projects across TU Dublin campuses that support the UN Sustainability Goals.
  3. Skuarewave: Play Music With Holograms – create looping beats and melodies with a holographic interface while the music plays around you.

These projects have been experienced by many at festivals and events including TU Dublin student inductions across all five campuses, Dublin Maker and Audio Garden Festival and demonstrate the capabilities of Godot for eXtended Reality projects that merge the physical, digital, the senses and the imagination.
